We bought an acre of land with spectacular views at the top of Maud and the Falcon team designed and built a house that was equally spectacular.
This is the first house we have ever had built. We were apprehensive because you always hear how difficult the build process is. That was not our experience with Falcon. Adam and Grace worked with us to design the house we wanted. Aleks worked with everyone to get the house built ahead of schedule. Adam and Aleks responded to all my texts and were able to solve any problems that arose in a timely matter.

I have to tell you that the house the Falcon team designed and built for me exceeds my every expectation. Each design element is perfect and the floor plan flows beautifully. It is, for me, the perfect home to share with family and friends. I could not possibly be happier with the end result or the process.
It was difficult for me to even contemplate building a home in Alaska while residing in Missouri, but we managed to pull it off. You delivered on every promise, stuck to every deadline, and Aleks kept me informed the entire time, even keeping his cool when my reaction to the dry well was far from polite.

My wife and I engaged with Falcon Alaska, LLC for a design / build for a house in Big Lake, Alaska. For reasons that had nothing to do with Falcon, we decided not to proceed after completing the design stage. However, we unhesistatingly give Falcon the highest possible recommendation.
In a lifetime spent in and around the construction industry and having had a couple houses built previously, what always seemed to be missing from residential construction was a structured and detailed approach to programming and design that incorporated client input (i.e. like one would see on a commercial project with an architect).
The Falcon design process was unique for a home builder and provided much more assurance and information during the design stage than I've previously seen in residential design / build. Falcon's process was the first instance where I've seen a residential design that provided complete clarity while always incorporating and accommodating client input. We decided not to build for other reasons, but if we were to build, Falcon would be the only choice.
We worked most closely during the design period with Arliss Wirtanen, Grace Varriano, and Steven Wirtanen. While it was great to work with the entire team, Arliss, Grace, and Steven deserve special recognition for the expertise, ability, and client interaction skills that they bring to the process.
I will unhesitatingly recommend Falcon to anyone contemplating home construction in Alaska.

Falcon made the building process stress free. Every phase was carefully laid out and they met their estimated completion dates on each phase. There were no huge overage charges.

This company was great to work with throughout the construction process. They contracted with some really good companies who built us a wonderful home.
The only issue we've had is getting warranty work completed. This, of course, had more to do with COVID than the fault of the company.
They were and continue to be very respectful of their customers' fears and reservations pertaining to the spread of the virus. After moving in, we became aware of a few very minor issues which were all corrected (or are scheduled to be corrected.)
I highly recommend Wirtanen for anyone wanting to build a really nice home.

"We recently discovered the paint was flaking off our front door, evidently due to an error when it was originally painted.
We contacted Falcon Alaska to see if the door was still under warranty as it had been six years since the house had been built. Because the door had been painted on-site it was no longer under warranty. However, we were told “…we would like to make sure you’re left with a solid product that will last for years to come” and they immediately contacted a painter to redo the door at no charge to us.
Falcon was under no obligation to repair a door that they had installed and painted six years ago but they treated it like it was installed yesterday. This company takes pride in their work and stands behind it."
